The organization – Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) has been enriching the lives of older adults since it began in 1951. It has grown exponentially to serving older adults in continuing care retirement communities, principally Deupree House, Deupree Cottages and Marjorie P. Lee, 32 Affordable Living communities for low-income seniors and community outreach programs including the Center for Memory Care Support and Inclusion and Deupree Meals on Wheels. Newly defined position – Join ERS as the principal on-site foundation grant writer, responsible also for interactive outreach with current and prospective foundations and corporate event/program sponsors. Inherit solid foundation and corporate relationships (annual average about $750K revenue) with the opportunity to use your networking abilities to enhance and grow levels of participation. Compelling narratives, balanced with financial and statistical details, abound just waiting for your creative writing skills. As an integral addition to the collaborative four-person development team, you will help develop strategic communications and make an impact to inspire engagement and increase philanthropic support for a variety of programs for seniors served by ERS.

 

Requirement – A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management or related field required. Five years’ experience preferred, minimum of three years. Passion for serving older adults is a must. Confidence in your writing abilities and judgment to match ERS’s opportunities with guidelines of foundations and the interests of corporate sponsors. Knowledge of regional grant-making foundations is helpful. Important are strong interpersonal skills to build and sustain meaningful relationships with a wide array of donors. Ideal is experience with Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft. Desire to work independently and collaboratively with flexibility and integrity.
