Major Gifts / Episcopal Retirement Services
Re-opening search for Director of Individual Giving
Empathy, warmth, and passion for building and sustaining relationships with active older adults top the list of expectations of this major gifts role. Engaging and listening to residents and their families in very comfortable surroundings offers a mature listener with wonderful opportunities for success. Fundamental understanding of planned giving necessary with desire to gain proficiency.
This Director of Individual Giving will inherit a strong portfolio of donors to nurture and the opportunity to create new donor relationships. Beyond the competitive starting salary — $80K to $90K — benefits include available remote work and on-site split between two of Cincinnati’s premier senior living communities resulting in an enviable work/life balance. Other benefits include attractive medical, dental, and vision insurance, voluntary supplemental benefits, e.g., accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity coverage, short-term disability and life and accidental death. ERS also offers a dependent care flexible spending account, pretax 403(b) or Roth 403(b) plans, an array of health & wellness options, PTO, and personal perks and paid professional development opportunities.
In addition to the tangible benefits of this role, the Director of Individual Giving will be joining an established and recognized leader in the senior care industry, thanks in great part to philanthropic support that allows Episcopal Retirement Services to go above and beyond for seniors to ensure they lead engaged lives, full of purpose. ERS’ cornerstone philosophy and core values are grounded in person-centered care and donor-centric philanthropy.
Familiarity with elder issues and understanding of the joys and opportunities of working with older adults — gained personally and/or professionally — can’t be overstated. Very helpful for this role will be strong analytical and presentation skills, experience with Raiser’s Edge, and a desire to work within a collaborative philanthropy department.
